iCIMS Survey Reveals Recruiting Software Selection Trends
iCIMS, Inc. has released the results of a survey of 500 IT and HR leaders, highlighting current trends in hiring software solution selection and implementation.
Highlighted findings:
- 96% of IT and HR leaders agree that hiring is “critical to their organization’s success."
- HR is IT's lowest priority, and in turn for HR, recruiting is their lowest priority.
- 79% of IT and HR leaders agree that they are falling behind the tech curve on recruitment solutions.
- In evaluating potential providers, organizations' top criterion is "implementation cost and time."
What do these numbers mean?
IT and HR leaders realize the importance of a solid hiring process, but are hard pressed to devote the necessary resources to its realization. This makes selecting a vendor efficiently and successfully a critical priority. However, it seems that currently organizations are prioritizing initial implementation costs over long-term benefits realization.
To help leaders make their software decisions, SoftwareReviews provides an Ease of Implementation metric.
However, just as important to consider is the ongoing cost of your relationship with a vendor, which goes beyond the monetary. Interactions that impact your ability to realize value from a software provider include the nature of your contract negotiations, the time and resources spent on conflict resolution, and the overall experience users have with the provided service.
Here, leaders can rely on SoftwareReviews' Emotional Footprint measure, which is a comprehensive indicator of user sentiment towards a vendor, spanning five key vendor relationship dimensions:
- Strategy and Innovation
- Service Experience
- Conflict Resolution
- Product Impact
- Negotiation and Contract
Relying on a comprehensive measure such as the Emotional Footprint saves valuable time at the decision stage, allowing organizations to give due consideration to long-term benefits realization while continuing to complete their software selection and implementation on time and on budget.
As of February 7, 2020, champions on the Emotional Footprint scale in the SoftwareReviews Recruiting category include Hyrell, Lever, and Breezy HR.
Our Take
IT and HR leaders realize the importance of a solid hiring process but are hard pressed to devote the necessary resources to its realization.
Long-term value realization needs to be considered without unduly lengthening software selection and implementation timelines.
Using comprehensive measures of vendor value, such as SoftwareReviews’ Ease of Implementation and Emotional Footprints speeds up the vendor selection process without compromising consideration for long-term vendor relationship outcomes.
