What is Selenium?

Selenium automates browsers. That's it! What you do with that power is entirely up to you. Primarily it is for automating web applications for testing purposes, but is certainly not limited to just that. Boring web-based administration tasks can (and should) also be automated as well.

Flexible Browser Testing With Great Control

Likeliness to Recommend

9 /10

What differentiates Selenium from other similar products?

Selenium gives me a lot of freedom in how I build and run browser tests. I can use different programming languages, work with major browsers, and fit it into the testing setup I already have. I also like that I'm not dependent on a single testing platform to control the whole workflow

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

For me, it is the control Selenium provides. I can write a test around a very specific user flow and decide exactly how the browser should behave at each step. Once the basic framework is set up properly, it becomes a useful part of the development and QA process.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Selenium itself doesn't handle everything for you, so there is some extra work involved in building a good automation setup. Flaky tests can also become annoying when pages have dynamic elements or timing issues. Keeping a large test suite stable takes regular maintenance.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I'd suggest starting with a few important workflows instead of trying to automate the entire application immediately. Learn proper locators, waits, and test organization early on. Once you have a stable foundation, expanding the automation suite becomes much easier and less frustrating.

Automated testing with efficient features

Likeliness to Recommend

9 /10

What differentiates Selenium from other similar products?

I can control browser actions effectively. I don't have to use many setups, I easily run tests across multiple operations.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

It provides strong integration services with Java, Python, and JavaScript according to our needs. The ability to record the test cases is very helpful, and I also execute several test cases at the same time, and all work efficiently.

What do you dislike most about this product?

It is one of the most effective Test Management platforms. I don't have anything negative to add here.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Highly recommended tool. It is a reliable, stable, and scalable test management platform.

Smooth code-based and browser testing automation

Likeliness to Recommend

9 /10

What differentiates Selenium from other similar products?

We have been relying on this tool for our enterprise-level projects because of its versatility and knowing the fact that it won't go anywhere soon. Different niches of projects have been running on this platform smoothly because of its huge ecosystem of integrations and fine cross-browser support.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

It is highly developed tool with advanced functionalities which is why it provides efficient services. This platform has really helped me in automating repetitive tasks with ease and saving much of my time. Our QA team also gets along with it quite well. Most of my team uses it for its incredible functional testing and UI validation.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Although it provides great automation features but managing the test data and cleanup is mostly done individually. Along with this, I do not like how some of the tests run fail when the page loads or requires syncing.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If your team is specifically working with either Java, Python, or C#, I would highly recommend using this platform as it will plug right into these stacks without any complexity.
