What differentiates Paylocity from other similar products?

What is your favorite aspect of this product?
The payroll module is incredibly user-friendly and accurate, saving us time and reducing errors. The recruitment features—from job postings to applicant tracking—are comprehensive and intuitive. Plus, the support team and account managers are responsive, proactive, and genuinely invested in our success.
What do you dislike most about this product?
While most features are strong, reporting could be more flexible and customizable. Some analytics require manual workarounds, which can be time-consuming for strategic HR planning.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
If payroll accuracy and recruitment efficiency are top priorities, Paylocity is a fantastic choice. Be sure to engage with their service team early—they’re incredibly helpful during setup and beyond. Also, take full advantage of the training resources and customize workflows to match your organization’s needs.

What differentiates Paylocity from other similar products?
We switched from to Paylocity from a competitor in January 2024. Paylocity offered so much more. Everything was included like time off hours accrual. We were charged extra for accrual. by the competitor. We also like the App. It's made it so much easier for employees who are working off-site. HR products are also included. The other processor charged us a small fortune for HR services, and they didn't even call us back when we needed help or information.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
The timecards and how easy it is to make corrections. Also, employees can easily submit time off requests and corrections to their timecards. The Home page is great for employees. It saves a lot of time answering questions because they can look up their own information.
What do you dislike most about this product?
It's somewhat difficult to configure things. Also, it's not obvious how to run payroll but there was a lot of training before I was turned loose to do it all myself! Once I learned, it's no longer a problem but if for some reason I'm not available to run the payroll, it will be difficult for anyone else to try to do it.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Be sure you have someone that is a bit tech savvy. The configuration is a bit complicated, so you need someone who is able to logically figure things out. Be sure to take advantage of the PEAK Portal where you can find information on just about everything. Be sure to watch the training videos. They are valuable when you run into a problem and need to know something quickly.
