What differentiates Couchbase Server from other similar products?

Supports multiple data models, including key-value, document, and (with recent versions) relational data. This versatility allows users to choose the best model for their use case without needing to switch between different systems.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The NoSQL feature combined with the great performance make Couchbase a powerful tool to fast development, is easy to use, and I use it every day for my recent projects. It is an easy integration and ease of implementation, and I'm experimenting with existing projects like Nodejs or PHP and the documentation is easy to understand. I don't try Customer Support because I think this is for an easy tool, I do not need that :)

What do you dislike most about this product?

I don't like the documentation code background, I blink and have a problem with my eyes and the background color bothers me after about 10 minutes of reading the code in the documentation

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

What differentiates Couchbase Server from other similar products?

Couchbase, from the ground up, is designed for real-time applications. It uses B-trees - but it’s optimized for fast, transactional reads and writes, and it's intimately integrated with a full-text search engine.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I genuinely appreciate the level of control they offer. I've seen teams completely paralyzed by the limitations of other 'easy-to-use' databases. Couchbase’s performance tuning options, albeit requiring some expertise, are substantial.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The sheer depth of options and configurations can be overwhelming. It's not a "plug-and-play" solution. You'll need dedicated expertise and ideally, someone who really understands indexing and query optimization - to realize its full potential. The documentation, while decent, isn’t inherently intuitive.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Don't choose Couchbase because it’s “shiny.” Choose it because you need its capabilities - principally high-performance, real-time data access coupled with robust full-text search. If your requirements are simple - just a basic, scalable NoSQL database - you’re better off with something less complex.
