Acterys stands out for its deep, native integration with Power BI and the broader Microsoft ecosystem. Unlike other planning tools that operate in separate interfaces or require complex connectors, Acterys allows us to plan, analyze, and write back directly within Power BI — no switching tools or losing context. Its architecture is based on SQL and Microsoft Fabric, giving us full control, scalability, and transparency. Additionally, the flexibility to model complex logic using SQL, combined with real-time collaboration, versioning, and workflow management, makes Acterys uniquely suited for teams that want full planning capabilities
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
My favorite aspect of Acterys is the ability to perform planning and write-back directly within Power BI. It eliminates the need for separate planning platforms and allows teams to work in a familiar environment while maintaining a single source of truth. The native integration with the Microsoft stack, combined with SQL-based modeling, makes it highly flexible and scalable. It’s especially valuable for finance and operations teams looking to streamline planning, reporting, and collaboration — all in one place.

The initial setup for advanced models can be complex without prior SQL knowledge.
